Ashton was very excited for today to come. She was going to visit Miss A for her 6th birthday at Kid's Planet. And as Miss A loves dolphins, Ashton wore her Winter shirt and brought her stuffed Winter toy along.
She also wanted her hair up like Marinette from Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir. She's really been into that show lately. Of course it only lasted a short time before it just fell out into pigtails.
When we arrived, kids got green socks with rubberized soles to play in.
While the kids were all in the giant playground, Ashton wanted to play the arcade games. Her favorite was the racing game. She barely could reach the peddle to press the gas, but that didn't deter her one bit.
She won 4th place, 3rd place, and 1st place during her perspective races. She loved the tornado and earthquakes and jumping through and over them.
She played many games, I didn't document them all, but encouraged her on each.
She was very disappointed when she ran out of credits. But she ended up making it to the giant kid's playground with the other kids. It was so big, I never knew where she was. It was about 4 stories high and very deep and long. There were slides, tunnels, sir ball cannons, sand, all sorts of things.
Finally the announcer called for pizza and the children rushed upstairs to eat.
After eating was presents. A few, like my daughter, stayed after to play on the playground some more. This time Ashton was all about the "carousel".
I didn't want her swinging, but it was hard for her not to. Needless to say, she loved it. She had a meltdown when we were leaving. She didn't want to go. I told her we had to and I had errands to do. She perked up during the long drive back across town.
While I was doing a few errands, Ashton wanted to look at the bikes. She asked to get the motor bike as it was so cool for her birthday. Naturally that was the one she gravitated towards.
She also wanted her picture taken with Lego Batman.
Then it was back home to help with putting in the water sprinkler system. Ashton tried her hand and scooping out dirt.
She ended up sweeping dirt off the sidewalks and driveway. Much easier task for her. And she did a really good job of that too. This project will take a long time, just the 2 and a half of us, but we're proud doing it together as a family!
