I braided her hair to make it as wavy as possible the day of. She was so excited.
And because it was mother's day we took a quick shot together before we left, with Brenley of course. How Ashton adores Brenley.
There were 3 lines. They were coronation balls for your princesses, but "directed" by different princesses. There was Cinderella, Belle, and Ariel. Ashton and Miss R both wanted Ariel. Miss R was dressed as Elena, and her little sister Miss J was so adorable in her gown! The girl were having a blast. They'd do stuff on their own then find each other and do stuff together and go back and forth.
Ashton was VERY shy to meet most of the princesses. But I got her to meet Moana. She was very excited. Out of about 100 little girls, Ashton was the ONLY Moana! So of course THE Moana just doted over her.
Ashton was very nervous to meet Jasmine. Both Miss R and Ashton were curious where her magic carpet was and if they could ride it.
Ashton didn't want to be crowned or go up stage. But Ariel was very patient and coaxed her up. She got crowned and though Ashton didn't want to wear it she was very excited to have it.
We got in line several times to meet Elena, but she'd chicken out. But we finally did it!
Ashton had more fun with the balloons than anything else. I should remember this for her next birthday and just blow up a bunch of balloons and have them on the floor. Cheap entertainment.
The girls were very excited to meet Tiana. Right before they met her, she was talking to a girl about being a frog and eating flies and that she doesn't eat flies anymore. The girls couldn't stop giggling about the flies.
There was then story time where Anna and Elsa read a Frozen book. Ashton was more interested in hitting Miss R with a balloon. They also were throwing Pua back and forth into each others lap and got other little princesses to join them.
Later Ashton joined up with Moana again and she taught Ashton the hula. It was so cute.
Later the famous "Let It Go" song was performed.
Ashton met Meria and talked about bows and arrows.
Then there was a birthday dance and Miss R and Miss J (including their cousins) along with Merida and Moana danced in a circle with Ashton.
Then it was craft time and Ashton and Moana colored a crown together. Ahsotn made it for Miss R and wrote her name on it and crowned her when she was done. Miss R then gave her crown to Ashton. It was so sweet!
Ashton met up with Snow Wite quickly, as she was too scared to earlier. I couldn't get her to meet Belle, Elsa, Anna, Aurora, Cinderella, and Sophia. But that was okay I think she got the corage to meet her favorite ones.
Ashton had to go the bathroom so we left and went out the doors to the hallway. I looked right and left for a restroom sign. Instead I see peaking around the corner Maleficent. You couldn't miss the big horns and bright red lipstick.
She came out and Ashton was fearless around her and told her she was her for Halloween and had the wings. They talked for a minute and she gave directions to the restroom. So crazy!
Ashton was panicked. She wanted to hurry as she didn't want to miss Maleficent's entrance. She peed faster than I've ever seen her go. She has such urgency. Luckily we didn't miss a thing. She caused Aurora to fall asleep. so to wake her all the little princesses had to find flowers to throw on her. But they couldn't touch her else they'd fall tot the sleeping curse too.
They were able to wake Aurora and Maleficent was around and some of the girls were frightened, but not my girl. No, scared to meet Aurora, but not Maleficent. I made sure to get a picture of them this time.
Cinderella then lost her glass slipper and asked the little princesses to help find it. All the kids were looking around the ballroom floor. My girl decided to look under the stage and flips up the curtain and crawls under. She only found a popped balloon. But good searching. Points for being creative.
Then there was a bit more dancing and finally the march parade out. Moana made sure to walk hand in hand with Ashton. Miss R got Elsa. It was so cute.
Ashton had a great time. So much so she wanted to wear her costume over to Grandma's next. We went home and picked up Daddy then headed to Grandma's house. This time she wore her crown to show it off to Grandma.
We picked up dinner from a restaurant and ate it at Grandmother's house. It was a lovely time. Grandma seemed to really enjoy Ashton there.
On the way home our car broke down on the highway. Ashton was hungry again so was eating Parmesan packets. And yes a mess was made. But it kept her happy and calm. The highway was very busy. My husband was on YouTube trying to figure out was happened to the car.
Ashton ended up asking to watch Michael Jackson videos on my phone from YouTube. She was even brave enough to watch Thriller. She loves watching him dance.
My mom (who had driven home on the other side of town) picked Ashton and I up to take us home, thankfully as the AAA tow guy didn't have enough room in his truck for the 3 of us.
We got home and my husband was able to fix the car. Battery was dead, and in a Prius, that was a bit trickier than a typical car.
Before Ashton went to bed she gave me her mother's day gift to me that she made in daycare. And as we had car trouble, it was fitting to show that even during a break down we have each other and everything's okay!
It was a busy mother's day. Good. Not all planned, but better happening on a weekend going home than to something or during work. However, I'm exhausted. Blessed and ready for bed.
