Take Me Out to the Ballgame

Earlier this morning she looked super adorable. She hadn't worn her fox ears in forever!!!

She wore her headband through most of the day, until it got "too cold". The weather dropped and off went her fox ears and on the coat and we went on a walk. After the walk, Ashton picked up her garden utensil and started swinging it.

Must have picked up this song from daycare... my little slugger!!

The 3 Little Pigs with a Twist

For bedtime last night, Ashton wanted a turn to tell a bedtime story. So I sat back and let her.

It was the story of the 3 Little Pigs, but no mention of the wolf, and in need of saving from Supergirl and Wonder Woman. Definitely a new twist on an old tale. Gotta love how her imagination flies!

With the medal Ashton got the night before, last night I encouraged her to show me her somersaults and back bends. She happily obliged. If she learned anything else, I don't know about it and I haven't "seen" it.

So after playing catch (it was raining outside so today was indoor play) with the tennis ball a few times, she performed her tumbling skills.

Ashton, to say in the least, was very entertaining. Of course at bedtime, Ashton wanted to wear her medal to bed. She wore it all through story-time and being rocked, but I got it off her before getting tucked in for the night. But she was determined to sleep with the tennis ball we had played with. And oddly enough, it was still in bed with her this morning when I woke her up. Such a silly girl!

First Medal

Ashton's last day of gymnastics was yesterday. It's so weird to know she was taking gymnastics and to never have seen it. I got a few pictures from her daycare back when, but nothing for her final day. I heard she did well, and I know now and then she didn't listen and would go in time out for either cutting or goofing off, but that's all I know.

Well, for "completing the course", Ashton received a medal. She was so excited about it and made sure I got it out of her bag for her when I arrived to pick her up.

Of course I cant' get her to ever tell me about her gymnastics that day. And the gymnastics instructor, I've never met. And there are so many kids, if I ask how her class went, well the daycare providers were taking care of the children not in gymnastics. So I don't really ever know.

I do remember a few weeks ago she did want to show off her new move she learned. She did a backbend of sorts. I kept calling her a table and we couldn't resist tickling her when her little belly button would pop out beneath her shirt.

She wanted it to hang on her closet doorknob so she could "wear" it whenever she felt like it.

What was funny, was this morning, she didn't understand why she couldn't wear it to daycare like her other necklaces. She wanted to wear it and it's meant to be worn, why not now?

I told her she could wear it when she got back. She's very proud of her medal. And I'm proud of her and her accomplishment, even though I wasn't there to witness it. At least I know she had fun.

Happy First Birthday, Khaleesi

Today Khaleesi is 1 year old! She in no longer "months old". She is still ALL PUPPY, but has survived or we have survived making it to this milestone. We got her in August, so we haven't had her for a year yet. But it's definitely been an adventure.

Here are some of my favs of Khaleesi over the year.

Before our Day out with the birthday pup, we went to our community theater for the Memorial Day breakfast. There was Mr. J and Mrs. J, Ashton's Godparents to spend part of the morning with her.

She was so excited to see them. But I couldn't get a smile out of her until she wouldn't sit still. It was one or the other.

After breakfast we decided to take Khaleesi out to get a new collar, as she broke her last one... my favorite one that had her name spelled out.

So we went out and had fun and she got spoiled. We bought her a new toy, leash, and collar. She even got a few birthday biscuits. We then decided to stop by the dog park. As it had been raining all morning, and we had a clearing for her to play, there weren't many dogs about. She ran and had a blast. I love to see her run.

We then headed home for dinner and some down time. But not without a few more pics of the birthday girl!

It was so nice to have a "holiday" with the family after working on the backyard with the bobcat, doing housework, and watching Ashton. Just hanging out is the best.Image and video hosting by

While Daddy is trying to repair the bobcat (not working of course!) Ashton was playing with her friend Mr. D's truck. She put a little hot wheels car inside and kept pushing the truck back and forth... it was going much faster than Mr. D's dragon. Who knew that trucks can way outrun dragons.

Good information to know for the future, just in case we have to out run a dragon.

Dancing and Biking with an Umbrella

During Chinese Dance Class, I was asked to come down to see Ashton perform.

My girl giving her "performance". She can do parts of the dance, but needed help to do the entire dance. She was at least having fun!

Later on at home she thought it a good idea to ride her trike while holding her table umbrella. Who knows why.  But it made her happy and didn't cause any problems, so why not.

She didn't get a chance to ride the bobcat today, but I'm hoping she will tomorrow. We'll see how it goes.
