These two are so cute together, and are the biggest trouble makers.

Chinese Festival 2014

So the final Mid-Autumn Festival was Indianapolis' annual celebration they call Chinese Festival this Saturday.  Of course, Ashton went in her Chinese silks.

It was a beautiful day.  Ashton was dying to see the Lion Dance, but again, we missed it.  We came too early and it wasn't going to happen util hours later when we'd be long gone.

We tried to get Ashton's pic by the dragon aka long.  But she was terrified to.

We hung around, talked to some folks, and Ashton played a bean bag toss into a dragon board.  She saw kite flying and wanted to fly a kite, but they were always taken when we tried to go about it.

We sat down to get a little R&R in the shade and we got a shot of her throwing her shoe off. Ashton of course didn't need any R&R and was running about entertaining us.

Then Ashton went to the crafts table and made a lantern.

She chose her favorite color, the green paper to color on.  Then she chose the blue handle.  It came out very colorful.

Over all it was a good day.  When we got home we went outside to watch Daddy mow the lawn and enjoy the rest of the day.

It was a good day to enjoy. Later than night Ashton had her "fitting" for LauLau to help hem up her Halloween costume.  We're very excited about it!! I can't wait for October to begin.  It's a great Ashton month of celebrations!

Math Fundementals

Just for the record, i don't let Ashton run around in only a diaper.  she's too fun to dress up.  However, she ruined her outfit and I threw it in the wash and she promptly went back to playing and was too cute... I had to take a snapshot.

Ashton loves puzzles.  Even ones too hard for her.  She asks for help and tries to do them herself.  This puzzle is cool as it helps recognized counting items with its corresponding number.  She loves playing with it.

Also, earlier today, I took Khaleesi to her last puppy shots appointment at the vet.  She is now 4 months old and weighs a whopping 13 pounds!!!  The vet said she's healthy and on track, she's just going to be a tiny dalmatian.   He thinks low 30s!  We shall see.

So in 10 days she can officially go to a dog park!  Yay!!

Ashton's night fears are still there.  However, I'm getting her to bed faster, she's falling asleep faster, but she seems to wake up about every 2 hours, and as long as I go in and sit in the chair and watch her go back to sleep, in about 10 minutes I can get out... so I'm slowly catching back on sleep, but still not getting a full night's sleep yet.  But when she does sleep she looks like an angel.

What Ashton is Learning

Ashton's new daycare is teaching Ashton several things.

For the first time, Ashton is learning the "Pledge of Allegiance".

She is coloring her bear... blue it seems and made her own bear... with  low ears.

She is also learning about fall and the leaves... and it seems, very large squirrels!  Never seen one as big as a tree before!

I hear she loves to answer questions in class... which is funny because when I ask her a question, she usually clams up.  She is in a 2, 3, 4 year old class together.  So she is subject to the 4 year old work also, but not focused beyond 2/3 work because her attention span is very short.  She will answer questions when asked, but speaks softly.  She does participate during group at circle time.  However, she has an extremely hard time sitting still in her seat.  (Which I empathize, as I have trouble with the same at just eating at the table.  She can't sit still.)  The daycare teacher is working hard to correct her sitting habits so she can focus for a longer period of time.  She really tries to go through the days of the week and she recognizes several letters and a couple of numbers.

Can't wait to hear more about her progress.

Red Thread

This year we had our family photos done by Red Thread Photography.  I love how the photography is called red thread!  The photographer and I met through FCC (Families with Children from China) and her daughter came home this April.  She's planning on adopting again.  So her photography business was born to help support that and it's doing well.

It's truly amazing to see how much Ashton's changed and grown since last time. She's definitely a little girl and no longer a baby.  Sigh!

In the photos they captured her scrunchy face, my husband doing "the claw", Ashton and I doing our Eskimo kiss, and Ashton's Gotcha Day baby shoes.  Lots of great moments. So our family!
