Ashton Gets Her Children's Museum

Ashton has been begging for weeks to go back to the Children's Museum.  But we've been too busy.  We decided finally to make some time and take our little girl to the Museum.  She was thrilled!!

However, when we arrived, it was the busiest I've ever seen it.  We didn't get to park in the usual covered parking with the walkway to the Museum.  We had to go to another parking lot and walk around the side to get in.  We weren't used to that.  There were hundreds of people in line... thank goodness we have our annual passes!  We walked right in.

First off we went to the carousel.  Ashton rode with me on a horse, then with Daddy on the giraffe.  She loves that carousel and talks about riding her giraffe all the time.

She's talked about seeing the Mulan Jr. show too, but that was only for a few weekends only.  She got to see it once.  I'm glad she wasn't begging to see it again.

We went to the toddler room, I can't remember what they call the area officially, but she has a blast climbing the leaves.  She's fearless.

Then we went to the music room.  She loved playing all the instruments.

She then revved herself up to go to the China exhibit.

Every time we go we go to the "doggies".  She hugs them first thing each time we've visited the China exhibit.  It's now a tradition, so to speak.

Here are past pictures with the doggies.

This time she took a bigger interest in the panda display than before.  It was so cute and fun to watch her.

I'm glad she had such a great time.  We then left and went to McDonald's with an indoor playground for her to go crazy on.  She had a great day!  I hope we can do more Ashton-filled days.  I just hated being gone from Khaleesi so long.  Her still adjusting to us, and her bathroom schedule and training... I didn't like being gone from her so long... But she did fine.

Ashton is very good to her, and Khaleesi is still learning how to play properly with Ashton and the other pups.  I feel sorry that she can't play and interact the way she wants to.  I hope to get her with Simon, her brother sometime soon.

Loves Daddy's Shirts

About once a month I see Ashton putting on her Daddy's shirts... my shoes his shirts!  Silly girl.

Last Day at Second Daycare

Today was the last day at Ashton's second daycare.  I thought there would be a card, or a special something or photos sent... but no.  It was like any other regular day.

There were no photos with her former daycare provider or with her daycare mates.  Very underwhelming, but I guess, what did I expect?

But when we got home, Ashton was playing so cute.  She started singing to Amadeus his own personal song...  If you look at the last shot, you can tell Ami was less than thrilled.  Priceless moment.

She was having fun, bounding with energy... per usual.

And man, so tiring to us parents!

Between her and Khaleesi right now, I don't have time for much.  But my little toddlers adore each other and keep me on my toes.

Little Baby Turning Into a Little Lady

Yes, she's still a toddler, and petite, but she's looking more and more like a young lady, little girl, than a toddler to me.  It's precious to see her grown and mature, but I also miss her fleeting baby youth!

Just in looks alone, I'm seeing a girl not a toddler or baby.  Though she'll still be silly as ever and give her funny faces.  But I'm beginning to see the girl she's becoming.  A lady she'll become... do I dare say woman?

She's becoming more independent.  Meaning able to play by herself in the other room without being watched.  I can actually do something in the kitchen while she's in her play area!

She's also doing better in conversation.  She still will just give a few words answers, but we can talk multiple angles about a subject for a bit.

And she's learning faster.  She understand what you say without stepping her through, step-by-step.  She's amazing!

She still can't answer why, but she's developing quite the sweet personality... if not demanding too at times.  She's still very passionate and absolute.  But seeing the wheels churn in her mind... love to see.

MJ's Birthday Party

Yesterday, Daddy was vacuuming and Ashton was begging to try.  Ashton loves to help clean.  She has a little OCD about it.  She must have her hands clean, the space between her plate and self clean, but food on face and hair... that's not an issue.  So it's odd to see the things that bother her.  She loves to help throw things away, try to empty the dishwasher, so why wouldn't the same go for vacuuming?

So we let her at it.  She LOVED it.  She begged to do the other rooms.  Other than being slow, she does a fairly good job!

This morning she begged again to vacuum.  Though this time we said no.  There was not time to pull it out of the closet.  We had to eat breakfast and get going to a birthday party.  Her cousin, MJ turned 2!

Ashton had fun!  She loved her pizza and cupcake!  But she was dying to go outside, as usual.  She was asking anyone who would let her.  But it was a million degrees outside.  So finally it was decided the kids could play with the water table.  MJ has the sprayer and soaked her sister and Ashton.  They had a blast.  Ashton loved running about with the water table's umbrella.

She conked out on the ride back home!  Glad she got a fun day to play with her cousins!

Birthday Card for Her Daddy

Yesterday was my hubby's birthday.  And as memorable as it was upon getting my birthday card from Ashton, I wanted the same for him.  So I had Ashton pick out her Daddy's birthday card.  She had a handful, but when she found "The One" she dropped the others and couldn't put it down.  She was begging to give it to him, though it wasn't his birthday yet.

Luckily, she didn't let the cat out of the bag and she was able to give him his card on his actual birthday.  Once home from work and daycare, I redressed her.  We dressed her up in his favorite outfit of hers and she wore her favorite galoshes.  She was ready!  Her face of excitement is so obvious!

She loves the Muppets, so it wasn't far fetched for her to want to get this card for him.  She thinks it's hilarious.  She loves Beaker and Animal from the show.  Probably because of all the YouTube videos they do.

Compare to 8 months ago to my birthday and her giving me a card.  Same excitement, but wow!  How much she's changed and grown between our birthdays!

Of course, after giving it to him she wanted it back to play with over and over.  She got such a tickle from it and eventually would say his lines with him louder and louder!  It was funny.

Then we did a violin practice.  My husband is so good with her about it.  Ashton hasn't had lesson for 3 weeks, so I'm curious about how her lesson will go today for not having it so long.  I hope it goes well.

I'm still adjusting to having a puppy.  Ashton adores her, but Khaleesi is still learning how to be gentle with her and the other pups.  Once we have her potty trained I think things will settle better into a routine and new lifestyle.

I just left one puppy manners class for another.  I think the prior was too loose in method and wasn't supportive in her having a toddler for a sibling or older dogs.  I know it's not ideal, but after hearing it from the instructor when asking for advice, I decided to change it up and go with someone who would be excited about our pup and the challenges, rather than see it as a hazard.

So, Khaleesi's breeder introduced me to a trainer she thought I'd like: Khaleesi's cousin and her owner, so to speak.  This trainer had gotten one of her puppies over a year ago and is a dog trainer too.  So our girls are related somewhere.  And we have that connection.  So it's really cool.  And unlike before where I drove across town to class, he comes to teach in our home, in her natural environment.

First class is tomorrow.  Very interested to see how it goes.

But yesterday, I just had fun with the camera with us and our fur family while my hubby was off to theater rehearsal!  I was working with the pups to all sit and I was sitting on the floor with them.  Then Khaleesi jumps into my lap with Ashton quickly doing the same.  So it was time for a selfie of course!

These were the outtakes!

Then I tried desperately to get all my furbabies to look up.  Not easy!

Wish I could say all the pups get along with her.  They tolerate her, but she's still too hyper with them and she loves to pull Skylar's tail the most.  She tries to engage with Arwen, and it's hard to tell if Arwen wants to play or is terrified.  So we try to break it up.  Kiara can't stand her and barks and lunges at her if she's too close.  But if Khaleesi is curled up on the couch with me, all the others pile on as if she isn't even there and it's Heaven, if even for only a moment.  Usually Ashton wants to join and they scatter.  But she loves that too as it means a chase.  My poor furbabies!

Overall, Khaleesi is doing great.  But I am exhausted.  Just hope I make it through this hump.  It'll be so worth it.  But for now, it's just another day in the life...
